Wow do you ever have a good attitude! roll

How long does the MD say it will take to heal?

I mainly do breaststroke because my specialist nurse told me it would help open up my chest wall. I do a lap or two of freestyle/crawl but I have trouble with the breathing because of the reduced lung volume (chest wall expands 1cm cf the normal 5cm for my age). I only know how to do freestyle with a breath on the fourth stroke and have trouble getting enough air in for that long now.

Welcome here Shirley! 1cup It's especially fun for me to have another swimmer! yes

I'm so glad you're back on your feet again and having fun! smile How soon does the MD say it will be before you'll be able to run again? crazy2

I have done several 2 mile walks up our hill and walks to school to pick up. No where near enough exercise I have been too busy.
AND I finally got myself back in the swimming pool I haven't been for a good while. It was hard going I hadn't realised how much I have stiffened up. It was very uncomfortable my left SI started to hurt immediately when it had been fine?? Luckily it eased of and was fine afterwards.

@ Shirley,
No not counting distance doesn't rule you out any exercise is good. I am glad to hear you swim breast stroke, so do I even though when you read about swimming for AS everything says crawl or swimming on your back! I feel vulnerable/exposed swimming on my back (daft I know) and front crawl I can't do the breathing thing so lots of twisting involved and looking stupid.
I also figure swimming breast stroke stops my back from 'bannana-ing' by making it bend backwards lol.

I LOVE the word "bannana-ing"!!!

Welcome here Dave! clap I personally think life is too short/long to go without just one more driver. grin

For me, I swam 1/2 mile today, cleaned house for an hour yesterday, and two times over the weekend I swam 1,000 yds.

Life is pretty good these days. Can't complain much when there's a little grandbaby to play with!

Go TEAM! clap
