Molly,

Yes she has gone with the boots for now though my friend is still erring towards front shoes, I am hoping the boots will do the trick just to help alleviate any soreness while she becomes accustomed to the terrain. I am hoping to do one ride with and one without on the days I ride her each week.

I hadn't heard about lateral gaited horses, I had to google it! I found a Youtube clip that I think was of a lateral gaited horse and couldn't believe how stationary the rider was!

Would be nice to try, Lu has a very fast pony like trot impossible to sit nicely to, Purdys is similar but not quite so bad. When I was riding Lu with someone else who was on a Irish Draught Thoroughbred mix I was rising twice to their once.

Its probably not helped that Lu for one is a left handed horse according to the horse dentist and I am less supple on my left side (also left handed).
