when i was in my teens and 20s, i did run and swim laps for pleasure, fitness, and the calming effects that aerobic activity always gave me. would bike as a form of transportation as i didn't own a car through my poor college and grad school existence. but never did any of them very fast......well, except for the biking when caught in a thunder and lightning storm once, but that's another story. laugh2 boy did i fly then. otherwise, for me, it was always more about distance than speed.

now, i really couldn't even dream of such a thing, just really happy to be able to walk because i know what its like to have even that taken away from me. so any day that i can go for a walk is a good day rainbow
