If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hey! I have had a brilliant plan! After all this talk about swimming... does everyone want to swim with me? This is my idea: Each time we swim, we record our yards/meters/time by adding it to the previous post, and so on and so forth. (The reason for the time is that I still want credit on the days I feel too bad to actually swim, and end up treading water with the folks in the deep end) When we get to 1,000,000 yd/m/hrs we win! I'll start ~ My stats for today are... 1,000 yds 50 minutes Add yours to mine and post the new total in your post! Go TEAM!

Erica this is a cracking idea! I swam 20 lengths in a friends pool... it's 12 metres long... I think... will check this... but that is 240 metres. It took me about 30 minutes. New total: 80 minutes or 1 hour 20 minutes

Great idea, Erika, you are on! Our pool is 28 feet long, I count back and forth as one lap, and I try to do 100 laps a day. That's uh, umm, let me see...and we have to convert feet into yards, too? Or metres? Uh oh, may have to get back to you on this.. (floating on new pool lounge as I type this, clearly not an activity that is inducive to higher brain activity)

You're right Dow, it should be there and back is a length, oh man! That means it took me half and hour to swim 10 lengths!

Cool! I don't think we need to convert. Yards are close enough to meters, and minutes are the same everywhere, right? Go team!

Like my exercise physiologist says... it doesn't matter how far you go, it just matters how much time you spend getting there! When I first started swimming I could barely make it 25yd/m (depending upon the pool), where I would stop and gasp for air until I could swim back to the other end. The trick is to do it as often as possible. Go team!

I don't think I could swim that far, even now, with proper breathing! Because our pool is just 28 feet on the long end, what I basically do is hold my breath the entire length, then come up for air as I turn around, then push off and hold my breath for the next lap, etc So on the occasional times when we are in a hotel or somewhere with a full-sized pool, I have to try to and relearn the whole coordination thing of doing the crawl-stroke and exhaling underwater, coming up and inhaling during the next stroke, and find it quite difficult! Or revert to a much slower side stroke, which is okay, it got me through all those swimming boy scout requirements as a kid

Checked and pool is 12 metres long and did another 10 lengths today =240 metres and took me 20 minutes (less stoppage and breather time today!!)
So new totals are:
TIME 100 minutes or 1 hour 40 minutes
DISTANCE 1480 metres / yards
