I have an iPhone app called Walkmeter and it's helping me get out.

It's pretty cool:
- records my walk on Google Earth with GPS
- measures my speed
- times the walk
- measures elevation
- save the walk in History so you can keep track
- you can export the walk as a klm file (and a bunch of others) so it's viewable in Google Earth.

I got the idea I can do some fun stuff with it. A friend helped me find some shorter blocks where I can spell "Timo". I figure it would take about an hour and that's a haul for me so we'll see if I can do it. I tried one of my own but had to quit after the T and the I. Looong blocks...
I can make designs in a field so that's another cool thing to think about. It would be nice to be able to change the colour of the tracking from the basic black to other colours. Might ask the company about that. One could do a bike trip the same way.
