that's why i preferred yoga over pilates; yoga was part "exercise", part "meditation". The mind set was "its all good", "its not a competition", "its about you and your body". I never felt pressured when i couldn't do something in yoga, the way i did in pilates, but then again, it could have just been the teachers. i know how much hat swears by pilates. now i do yoga at home, because even though it wasn't a competition, i still found myself pushing myself in class, in a way i don't at home. and the poses / stretches are very much like my PT exercises as well.
