You should be OK with the chilli oil. Adding some fish sauce would be OK too - it tests negative with iodine, and I use this in most of my Asian-inspired meals. I have just started to use some tamari as well, as there is no wheat in it, unlike soya sauce.

Oh, BTW - I have Thai holy basil growing like a weed in my garden ATM - you want some? I'll bring it with me when I come for that delicious sounding soup! yes
