Hey CC,

I was referring to Trudi who felt something over night as far as feeling less depressed etc. She seemed to feel a mental boost right away.

You are correct.. I did feel a little 'high' the first day on LDN. That has settled down though.

As for an update on my condition: On Memorial Day weekend we were with some relatives who were sick (Strep and Mono) and about 7 days later I got a bit of a sore throat myself for a couple days. It ended up being the tiny-est sore throat I've ever had!! It seemed like my immune was "kickin' butt and takin' names." But here is where it gets weird, when my immune was fighting off the sore throat, my AS stiffness came back. I'm not as bad as I was before though, I can still get out of bed, and I'm not fatigued, just the stiffness in my usual areas. So I'm in better shape than pre-LDN. My hypothesis is that maybe when our immune has to fight off something else, the AS has an opportunity to rear its ugly head again. ????

my friend has studied a lot on illness & natural health remedies and she has noticed the exact same thing. She battles with severe candida infection to where she has horrible acne constantly. But, it clears up and she has a perfect complexion when she gets a cold or sinus infection, bladder infection, etc.... When she gets better, her acne comes back as her body continues to fight the candida thru her skin.

I also have a theory as to why I felt so CRAPPY (headache, dizzy etc.) for the first 6 days on LDN, I think I was having a "herx" reaction. I believe that means when your immune or an anti-biotic kills off germs/diseases in your body, you still have to "process" them to get rid of them through your GI tract etc. And I guess that makes some people kind of sick. Just some more speculation.

I think your speculation is right on! You never know what critters are in hiding! I have always called the 'herx' reaction 'a healing crisis'.

.........

My update on LDN: I'm not on it right now. I stopped dose last Monday. Not sure why i went downhill all week as I went into a HUGE flare! the weather has been HORRIBLE and I was reacting very badly with it and seemed to be going downhill. I only had a script for Tramadol a semi-narcotic and wanted to take it and knew LDN & it would not mix. Well, I realized too late that tramadol and I do not mix well either! UGH! So far I seem to either not respond or have a bad side effect of ALL medications! Shaking & nearly puking at the DR office was not fun! I had to go to get to walking again, my SI & whole spine was so cranked I could not put weight on my legs at all. She adjusted me and I'm still slowly coming out of whatever happened. It was like my whole spine was spasming into a fetal position. I could not straighten up very well. My doc was worried to see that happening and gave me some impossible psoas stretches to do. Maybe tomorrow I'll be able to do them.

My script is out anyway, so on the 10th I go back and I'll get another one. I do have some full strength LDN I can mix but I'm not sure how long to wait to get all the tramadol out of my system. Thankfully I only took it for 2 days so it should be out by now.
