Hi Jay - I refuse to take any of the hefty drugs! In fact, they would not be called for for me, my AS is pretty mild - excepting when in a really BAD flare. My rheumy is also of the same opinion - not bad enough, so the big boys are not called for.
My rheumy knows that I take LDN and she is perfectly happy about that. She opines, IF it works and so long as it works, continue to take. So, that is what I do. (Will be very interesting to find out what my new (French) rheumy thinks about LDN!)
*When* in a big flare I take Celebrex (anti-inflammatory) and for a break-through pain med, Tramadol or Remedeine, or Codliprane - this last is very like to Remedeine (mix of part Codeine 15.62mg and part Paracetamol 400mg).
So far I have most problems contained with the LDN. Bravo LDN. One area it has not contained is my gut, but I do believe that the gut problems are more of the secreting polyps. (We shall soon find out, seeing my new the gastro next Thursday.)
ANY questions you have re the LDN please do contact Dr Lawrence direct. His addie is: bob.lawrence@ntlworld.com He may take a while to answer your (and anyone elses) questions as he will be attending the (UK) LDN Conference starting next week. So he is a tad tied up at the moment, but, he will respond to ALL questions. BTW, Dr Lawrence is also very hot on diet...
(I would have posted his addie direct but thought that was interdit. But having seen a bunch of doctors names and telephone numbers posted today, then will likewise post that of Dr Lawrence.)
Please do contact Dr Lawrence with your questions. It's a tad unrealistic to expect forum members to have all the answers at their fingertips, re the various questions that have been posed when you can have a fully qualified doctor answer your questions for you - and don't forget, Dr Lawrence is not only involved with the LDN research but also takes LDN himself: he has his MS under control with the LDN. Pretty amazing. Tell ya, the stuff works .
Almost forgot. Dr Lawrence is a great believer in diet. (Would be terrif IF he would join KA!)
