I undrstand the cross reaction and molecular mimicry. The question is whether or not hormone activity perhaps from the Thyroid or Pituitary is neccessy for this to get started.
We go for years and then suddenly the AS strikes. It seems connected to truama to the body, or GUT stress of parasites or infection. Yet many HLAb27 candidates do not get AS. Perhaps there is yet another factor involved.
Elaine Gottshell's book explains celiac disease very well and has helped me to understand the danger of any undigested carbs getting past the small intestine. Or worse yet, lower gut flora colonizing in the small intestines. I also understand better why gut permeability is so bad. It is like bowel processes taking place in the abdominal cavity. YUK
