At one time I had problems with a persistent nagging cough. When I went to my GP, he looked at the meds that I was taking(far fewer then I take now)and had me stop taking one of my High BP meds and gave me some samples of another. The cough went away and the new PB meds kept everything good. It turned out that I can't take any ACE inhibitor type drugs. Over the years as it has been necessary to tweak my BP meds, the fact that I can't take the ACE drugs has been a problem. I am grateful that my GP kept a list of meds that I have tried and failed. I really worry that he will be retiring soon as he is getting older. On several occasions I have come in with a problem and the first thing he does is to go over all my meds to see if one of them or a combination of them could be causing the problem. just wish that all Dr. did that.
