I can't take Enbrel because the manufacturer of Enbrel, has taken me off their list to try the med, stating it was unsafe for me. Not everyone is so thorough as I am. My Rheumy did not know there was sulfites in the Biologics. I went looking for the chemical listings of the drug, and found a S44. How many people would know that this was a sulfite, the same stuff that has caused anaphalatic shock to me in the past (I lived - maybe the next time I won't.) The manufacturer wasn't about to take a chance. Too many doctors are afraid of being sued - no one will treat me unless they have no other choice and I am already on my death bed, in the hospital.
Will I take these drugs, knowing my health issues - no way - Yes like you said Snowshoe, it called personal responsibility.
There are many people, my husband for one - will take any drug the doctor hands him - without giving any thought, to the harm they may cause. But then he doesn't have the allergies/super sensitivities I have. He figues his doctor knows best, and wouldn't think about blaming the pharmacy. He just doesn't think that way.
