When my ankles and feet are being obnoxious, it really helps me to stretch them before I stand on them. I just do a few simple stretches, very gently. First I point my toes toward my nose and hold them there for 5 seconds. I do that 3 times. Then I rotate them in clockwise direction ~ slowly ~ 5 times. Then counter clockwise. I spread my toes out as wide as I can, and then curl them under, then back... holding each for 5 seconds. That usually helps. Good luck!
