Hi Linda!

You might want to try goat's milk or sheep's milk based cheeses and yoghurt and see what happens. Most people who are taken off dairy are only taken off cow's milk based products.

Also, watch out for casein (a milk protein), as it's actually worse than lactose. My naturopath was telling me that many people who are diagnosed lactose intollerant may actually reacting to the casein in things. Just a thought.

Organic dark bittersweet chocolate is WONDERFUL mixed with raw almonds or dried fruit. One of these days I'm going to melt some and make my own dark chocolate covered almonds or cranberries or something.

And if you think that ice cream is one of the culprits, try Tofutti frozen desert. This is no word of a lie and I am an ice cream lover like you wouldn't believe (it's embedded in my genetic code as a necessity of life), Tofutti is downright amazing. Ice creamy texture, great flavours (Chocolate supreme knocked me off my chair, and Wildberry sent me into raptures), and about the same price as a tub of Ben & Jerry's or Hagen Daz (up here in Canada anyway).

And, um, my naturopath would tell you that you should never, ever, under any circumstances drink coffee (something about some chemical other than caffeine that causes massive problems). I still do, although I gave it up for a few months. I'll probably give it up again, but I'm resisting.

Good luck!
