I give you credit for trying to modify your diet. The quick results may mean, as Janet suggested, you have identified a food allergy, e.g. lactose intolerance. If you are allergic to milk, then that means no ice cream and no milk in coffee.

BTW, the caffeine in coffee and chocolate lowers the body's blood sugar and long term use depletes calcium. I have seen recommendations to avoid caffeine to improve your health.

It is my understanding that if you want to reduce carbohydrates, you must avoid the consumption of table sugar, i.e., sucrose.
