It’s been a while since I visited. I looked at the NSD over a year ago, but I guess I wasn’t ready to give up the starchy foods. I’ve been in much pain for so long and I refuse to take meds. I remember reading that in the long run it will worsen the problem. The only treatment I’ve had is chiropractic once or twice a week which is just a temporary fix. Also I self medicated with beer and “herb.” I came back to this site and decided to give the NSD a serious trial. I started 3 days ago using the quick start rules. Eating mostly meat, fish, eggs, vegetables, fruits. (Testing the fruit and veggies w/iodine.) The only dairy is just a little cream in my coffee. Yesterday, I found it remarkable that I had much less sacroiliac pain. Today is the first day I woke up, put my feet on the floor and had almost no Achilles pain. That is indeed remarkable! I remember reading that we have to heal the git, so I am not drinking beer now. Also, I’m making sauerkraut again. Thanks to all the people here who share their experiences. The information here is much more valuable than anything I could ever get from the medical profession because it comes from people who have been there. The way I feel now is that if I have to give up bread and other starches, it’s worth it. The pain was ruling my life. I now have hope for the future!
