Hi,
Oh gosh, I've had this many times. (Unfortunately in the states they sent me home with Aleve and told me it would go away) The last time (Sept 05 –first time here in Switzerland) I was in so much pain I could hardly walk. My rheumatologist did some testing and eventually it came out to be inflammation and swelling was pressing on nerves and causing the burning, pins and needles feeling. I was on complete bed rest for a week and high doses of steroids to bring the swelling down and what pain meds they could offer me. I'm allergic to most of the good ones. :O(
I'd see your doctor right away. It sound mild at the moment but it's nothing to play around with. The swelling can get bad enough to permanently damage your nerves especially if your spinal cord is involved.
Hope you feel better soon.
