Sally, we had marmite growing up (in the UK, I'm now in the US) never heard of vegemite. You mentioned Wheatabix, that was my favorite cereal growing up, couldn't find it fo rthe longest time when I moved to the US (1982), but they have it now.

Another was banana mashed up with sugar until it was almost a liquid as a sandwich.
