Does everyone get this ridiculous cascade of issues after being Dx'd w/ spondylitis? I am out of sorts! eek2 My eye pain, vertigo, ear ringing, weak right leg deal has turned into 2 MRIs. One brain, one lower back... AND a trip to a neurologist. floor What gives? I must say that I am over Dr visits, yet the fun continues! mad While swimming yesterday I admit to thinking that at least if it's a brain tumor I'll be able to get a doctor's note out of my final math class yes My Dr suspects MS, and this idea creates a good amount of rage - which I'm pretty sure is toxic. Ok, that's it! I'm sending myself to the corner to meditate... Well to the couch anyway angel3d BRB

Erica, you sure do have a lot going on right now. I hate to say it, but autoimmune diseases do tend, in some of us anyway, to happen in clusters. That said, I truly hope that what you are experiencing is a by-product of your AS. I think you know what I mean.

Have you seen and ophtalmologist for the eye pain, by the way? We are subject to iritis, which I describe as arthritis of the eye, and it is horribly painful. I'm sure your doctors have already looked into this, but thought I'd ask. Vertigo and tenitis (ear ringing) could be fibro related, but might also have something to do with neck involvement. Weak right leg could be related to lower back/sciatic issues. I'm just trying to come up with something other than MS, is all.

If it is all AS related, I fear it will not save you from the math exam. It's good that you're swimming, by the way. One of the best things for us!!

Hugs,

Kat

Thanks for the support! I went to the eye doctor yesterday, which was who sent me to my doctor. He didn't see inflamation, though the vertigo w eye movement evidently means a whole different thing than vertigo w head movement... didn't know that fibromyalgia comes w dizzy/ringing, but at the rate I'm going, surely I'll have fibromyalgia by the end of the week. {visualize bemused sarcastic expression here}

Thank you! I definitely feel held up in prayer and good vibes here:) And really, what is a diagnosis? Just an explanation for our symptoms, right? Validation that we aren't hypochondriacs! tongue3

Just to clarify, when you say eye doctor, you mean an ophthalmologist and not an optometrist, right? Because an optometrist can't diagnose iritis/uveitis.

No! I went to an optometrist, and then my doctor. Oddly today my eye feels good, and my pain level is only about 1-2. Still dizzy & nauseous. Calling the opthamology clinic now. Thanks for clarifying! I really am flailing around in the dark still clown

Hi,
I hope you are feeling better today. I hope that this all settles and goes away without a new diagnosis. Thinking of you.
