Sorry to hear that Tammy, you must be feeling wretched not being upto brushing your horse. Is there anyone who could help you do that job? It is quite an effort to brush down a horse. Perhaps if you gave a small brush, just along the itchy bits - your horse will be loosing its winter coat now, or will shortly, and would welcome the itchy bits. Sorry I'm not nearer to help out.

Have you thought of taking some vits. Like the Bs and Omega 3, and of course D, and Q10. Should help.

Hope you feel better soon. hugss

Hello Tammy
When life is too much for you, that is when you must call on your friends and family for help and support to do the things you are struggling with.

Have you got a good network of friends to call on? I'm sure they would be happy to help you, just as I'm sure you help them when you can too in all sorts of ways.

Be kind to yourself - you want to look after your darling horse, but your body is not always going to be up to the job. I have felt the same way with my children (and husband) lately. When I have been so fatigued and good for nothing and all my jobs are piling up around me it takes a lot to remember that you can only do what you can and if you can't, then life will still carry on around you for a while until you are back on your feet again.

Take care, hope you feel much better soon.
Tink

PS you can still stroke your lovely horse and whisper sweet nothings in her ear - I'm sure she'd appreciate that too.

I have been flaring for about three weeks. I vacuumed yesterday and today I can barely think the pain is so intense.
How do you all make your family understand that the pain is so debilitating and just standing at the stove making dinner after working all day is enough to make me want to die...Any advice?

Hi Tammy, I can certainly understand that feeling of fatigue. I used to ride horses when I was younger and still dream of having a horse of my own one day. If there is a teenage girl who is crazy for horses and who lives in your community, could she help out with some basic grooming and care an in exchange get to ride once a week or so? If I were a teenager and lived around horses I would look out for an opportunity like that--a dream come true! I hope you can get a little help until you are feeling better again. Best wishes.
Jan

I do crockpot dinners or oven dinners mostly. I rarely fry or cook on the stovetop because I can't be at the stove tending things for more than a few minutes. I'm buying frozen veggies to steam or microwave so I don't have to clean and cut. I am not a good delegator, but anything a child does (well the ones over 5) is helpful.

Amazingly, life goes on whether the house is clean or not. I try to enjoy the clean days and focus on my kids the messy days. does that make sense?

My my, I was just thinking this myself. Why can't I get to do anything? Then found this post. In my case though it is not horses, but guinea pigs (kids pet, dad's job). I need to muck out the poor things cage. I have shift work tonight. Very fatigued. Can't seem to sleep more than 3 hours without pain. Partner does not understand why I am getting up all night (can't you just get some drugs- wow, why didn't I think of that!). Depression?? Hello old friend!

Hmm, just a bad day I guess. Very thankful for the post. Nice to at least not feel alone in this world, and it can be lonely.

interesting that you use the word lonely. that's how i feel when i'm in a lot of pain. and that's with a very supportive spouse, great friends, loving family. but yes, pain is very isolating. glad you can find some comfort here.
