Hey Possi! I'm sorry to hear of this new issue. I've read that anemia and autoimmune disease kinda go hand in hand. Don't be afraid of the IV route - it'll get you feeling better quicker - a BIG benefit.

You are in my thoughts and prayers

Hey Possi,

Hope the molasses helps with the iron, it is supposed to be great for iron. My wife eats a lot of spinach and beef for her iron.

Thank each of you for your encouragement and tips. I have fought this several times in the past but this is the first time it has been low enough to make it hard to breathe and make me dizzy and hard to think straight. The dr. said that was all do to the low iron.

I just really have been bummed for this to happen this week with all of the company coming in, wedding festivities and Christmas coming up. I know we will get through it. The dr. is talking to some other specialists about blood loss. I just really don't want any more tests this week. I might throw a little tantrum. I guess it might be a BIG tantrum. :o)

I did make it to church and that makes such a difference. It helps all through the week.

I do feel better today. I got gifts wrapped. Didn't take long because we didn't buy many. :o) This has been an expensive December with one grand daughter making a haul with wedding presents, graduation presents AND Christmas. The two Grands from FL have their 18th and 14th birthdays this week too. So that was more shopping plus their dad's birthday was the end of November and we didn't ship his gift since they were coming. We are going to be celebrating up a storm here it looks like. :o)

Please say a prayer for me that God will hold me up this week and next. I just decided to add the next. :o) Christmas too.
We will have a little break. The kids/grands are going to go skiing for a few days between the wedding and Christmas. We definitely are sitting this one out.

Thank you again. I am downing the Blackstrap Molasses, the Sublingual B-12 and my Slow Fe. I may be a woman of steel.

Have a great week.

My goodness, what a couple of weeks you have ahead of you!! Most definitely, I'm sending a ton of white light and love your way to help you through.

It's a joyous time all round with all your family right now and I'm very glad to hear it. You deserve it.

Love,

Kat

Wow, Joyce, sorry that you have to add one more drug or supplement to the mix. I did not know that they could give iron via IV, although I don't know why that surprises me. I definitely hope it doesn't come to that for you--I know you get poked and prodded by doctors enough as it is and you certainly don't need a new IV added to the mix.

I know you are excited about your company coming (as well as experiencing that easily understood trepidation), and you should be, as it's always special to get together with family (friends coming too?) over the holidays. You just need to promise all of us that you will NOT overdo things once they get here. Or heck, not while getting ready for them to arrive, either. I am sure that whoever is coming to see you will totally understand that you need to take it easy and will be happy to help out by letting you tell them what needs to be done, and where. Believe me, I know how hard it is to let go and let others do things for you, especially in your own house, but I'm afraid that if you don't, having company will start to seem like a burden to you, Joyce, and I know with all my heart that you never want that to happen. Especially if it is your family that's coming, it is absolutely time for you to fully play up your role as family matriarch and let the kids and grandkids cater to you for a change!

Brad

P.S. I have one great example of how I find it hard to let others do things in my house, even after all these years of needing such assistance: One of the tasks my mom does when she comes for her visit every couple weeks is sweep and mop the floors as needed. At her house, she does the same thing, of course, but there, she actually still gets down on her hands and knees to scrub her kitchen floor--she says it just doesn't get clean enough for her tastes unless she does that. And hey, it is still very easy for her to get down on her hands and knees and perform that task, so I say more power to her--at her own house anyhow! She made the mistake once of telling me that she had done the same at my place one afternoon while I was at work, and I just about lost it! Well, in an "astonished and mildly peeved" kind of way, anyhow. She was rather taken aback by my reaction and wondered why I cared how she cleaned the floor. I'm sure many people wouldn't have cared and said "hey, it's her choice and she likes cleaning it that way," but not me. I explained to her that the mental image of her down on her hands and knees scrubbing my floor, slowly scrubbing away at every little black mark on the white tile, almost made me sick to my stomach! I hated the fact that she had to come down and help me with that kind of cleaning anyhow, and the idea that she would work THAT hard to clean a floor that I didn't give a rip about made me feel just terrible. I mean heck, I couldn't even really tell the difference between the hand-scrubbed vs. just mopped floor (typical man!), so there was no way I was going to let my mother work that hard cleaning my floor. Period! Ever since then, she has been banned from ever getting down on her hands and knees to scrub that floor or my bathroom floor (has the same tile), and that if I ever caught her doing that, I would be genuinely upset instead of just playfully upset. She is still baffled by this attitude, but she did finally understand how much it meant to me and how much the hand-scrubbing bothered me, so she has stuck to our agreement and never done that again. I know, because now that I'm retired, I'm always here when she cleans the floors!

Thanks Kat. It is such a joyous time. We are thrilled for our grand daughter. Getting that degree was wonderful and now she is so happy and excited about the wedding Saturday night. Can't keep from being giddy with her. He is a great guy. We needed a second grandson. :o)

The company starts coming Wednesday. I went to the Heart Hospital for blood work this a.m. and to PT where she wouldn't do much except some massage and heat packs since my iron is so low. Then off to my daughters where I was assigned making pew bows. :o) I can do that and I can do that sitting down. 7 more to go. I really want to be involved but I really want to be able to participate in the wedding activities so I am not doing a lot to help with the preparations.

Thank you dear friend for your love.

Right back to you.
