If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

My patterns have changed a great deal lately and I'm not sure what it means. I started with the classic SI and then back pain. Finding the NSD kicked that pain and then I only had pain in a peripheral joint if I cheated on the diet. I cheated enough to frequently have pain in one joint. For the past 5 years, I would have trouble with a joint for about a year, then it would move to another one. It would be my feet (both of them), then shoulders, then hands. I haven't had any back or hip pain in 5 years, just peripheral ones. Is this common? Then recently I had an anaphylactic reaction to goat yogurt. Since then, diet doesn't help me much. I tried Low dose Naltrexone and that seemed to make me worse. I started Monocin about the same time. I was on these for 6 weeks until I couldn't tolerate the pain and had to use NSAIDs daily to get to work. Anyway, the pain now moves from one joint to another after 24 to 48 hours and is so excruciating I want to cut the limb off! All I eat is chicken salads, eggs, beef, and pork rinds. None of these bothered me before. A huge difference now is that I don't get gassy like eating starchy foods, I have good energy, no brainfog. Just this excruciating pain. Well, I said I would share some more of my story and someone asked for it... Scott

Hi Scott, Pork rinds sound dangerous. I might try cutting those out for 2 wks or so! Shauna

They do sound suspicious. The label claims they are only pork skin and salt but I wonder how they would test with iodine.

Scott,
I'm sorry to hear about your latest developments.
I wonder if the moving joint pain is associated with over compensation. AS does impact all the connective tissue in the body, so maybe that's one possible explanation?
Have you considered doing some type of fast to see if that alleviates symptoms and then starting a new rotation of foods to see what sets you off?
I hope you find some type of relief soon,
Freddie

Thanks Freddie,
I am considering fasting. Can't fathom how I will survive 24 hours without food!
I thought I saw something here about an apple fast? Do you know the details about that?

Hi, Scott:
The integrity of your intestinal tract has been compromised first by the reaction to the yoghurt and then by taking NSAIDs. This will make the NSD seem much less effective. Although pork rinds do not contain starch, they do contain fry oils that keep the whole mess going.
How and why pains move around is somewhat individualistic but somewhat related to the dynamics of this disease process--AS is a disease of lymph and the reaction that results in cellular death is thankfully limited when reaction products can no longer reach the active sites due to inflammation products crowding the lymph ducts. The provocative IgA looks around for more likely suspects and any available collagens of the right type will be attacked, despite the fact the AS is not fully finished with the original target...it will someday be back unless you get a handle on this.
It is important to get back to better gut health and it can require some supplementation and proper choice of foods--lychee fruit (Asian markets have this in cans) and okra are important and eggs, also. You could try colostrum, also. VitC, niacin (and niacinamide), vitE, and lysine will help heal the tract.
I tried Minocin, but it was not as effective as tetracycline. If you can obtain a prescription for the tetracycline instead, it would be best to take dosages just before eating each meal, so if taking 1.5g daily take 500mg before each of three meals.
Borage seed oil (or other GLA but equivalent to 2g effective GLA) at night--or just before retiring. And take EFAs during the day even if it is just EVOliveOil by the teaspoonful after every meal.
The Edgar Cayce Three Day Apple Diet can help very much and apples are in season here plan on doing this twice with about 2-3 weeks in between with a cautious diet. Fasting for five to seven days can help heal your tract and will take down even the worst flare.
Good Luck to You, John
