If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

aloha joyce...hugs
i do so hope you're bearing up well...i feel remiss not answering your every posting, but i send warm sunlight wishes your way regardless.
horrible summer in the garden, a disaster. rained twice- once for 23 days then again for 45 days. corn washed out and stunted, cucumber beetles, colorado red potato beetles, aphids, mites, mexican bean beetles, early blight, stem rot and then late blight. lost 29 tomato plants(picked six tomatos); got 28lbs of potatos- should have had 150. bought all that did well was peans, green beans and cucumbers (for some reason the cucumber beetles ate the squash and potatos.
but my hawaian plumeria has blossomed and flowered for six months; and the rose of sharon at the house went to 7ft tall and has had hundreds...hundreds...hundreds of flowers.
buying tomatos at the iga just...just...just...just about kills me dear.

aloha ben,
heard about your garden disasters. and i know what you mean about the tomatoes, i grew up in south jersey, had jersey tomatoes right out my back door all summer. one summer up here we had a rainy cloudy summer, the big tomatoes were just awful, didn't know you could actually have a bad tomato out of home garden til then. however, even that summer our "sweet millions" cherry tomatoes were excellent. maybe throw some of that variety in there next summer, can't exactly make tomato sandwiches or tomato sauce with them, but great for everything else.
may next summer be a better gardening season,
sue

Cheery??!! You don't get cheery, do you? Goodness gracious, what a state of affairs!!! I'm glad to hear it, Ben. I think of you with your garden, and your fish, your cooking and all that you love, and to know that you do so now in much better shape on more than one front feels good. Warm hugs,
Kat

yeah...well i did have three sweet cherry 100's...they were the hardiest of them all; did pick about 50 of 'em...some good some not.
i promised a row of yukon gold to the local food bank...should have been 30/35lbs... ended up giving 'em 7 lbs (inc some pitifully small russets)
i even tried some canning this year...need to do a better job of rinsing off the salt... but i have a workable formula for a sweet green tomato relish for next year...and pickled green onions and some pickled cuc's too.
i invested so much time, effort and treasure in my garden plot this year...such a disappointment...it kills me to buy things i was growing...it's like buying things three times to get one...next year's garden will be smaller. btw. i rent a space at our town's community garden to grow food.
