If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

They had to buy a special one for me at work-- cause the ones that are supposed to be perfectly eurgonomic are literally a pain in the butt for me.
Anyway this last flare up has got me wondering about those kneely chairs that were trendy in the 90's-- maybe started in the 80's. You kneel and lean forward on them and there is no bend at the waist -- anyone ever try one? I wanna give one a tryout cause when my hip is really bad I can only sit for like 5 min at a time without seizing up.
I would think the kneel position would be very hard on the knees but anyone have experince with them?

Hi, I have experienced a little comfort with a chair having back vertical i.e without any inclination. With this I could sit a bit long comfortably. If the back is moveable, then it adds to the problem.
Regards. Jay

Hey Sue.. That chair looks like it would throw me off... I'd need a bull rope or some reigns or something... I have one of the mesh desk chairs. The back and seat are a mesh fabric over a steel frame. This is the most comfortable chair I can sit in. It doesn't allow alot of pressure on the sit bones, and the back is nice and stretchy to fit my back. Keep Kickin'AS Chris

Hi bcgirl. I tried one of the kneeling stools and although comfortable I could not spend long in that position and yes, getting in and out can be a bit tricky, especially if we are still.
At home at the computer, I have a therapy-ball chair with locking castor wheels. It helps maintain my core muscles and ensures better posture. I personally like it, but they too, take a bit of getting used to. It can tire you out to begin with, but after a while you don't even think about the fact that theres no backrest to lean against. (I notice now you can also get versions of them with backrests).
I also think it might depend on the fitness of your back and core muscles, if they are weak, maintaining the position could be difficult. I wonder if you could borrow one to "try before you buy" to see if its worthwhile.
Has anyone tried the ergonomic chairs where you sit "back-to-front" - you sit forward and instead of a backrest, there is a chestrest. Not sure if I could work like that, but I'd be interested to hear from anyone who's tried it.
All the best finding a comfortable chair. Let us know what you find works for you in the end. Cheers

Gosh! My back hurts just looking at that stool of yours. I need back support, and stiff support at that. I'm sitting now without any back support and it's killing me; how do you do it?

hey chris, is that the aeron chair? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aeron_chairi was reading about those in the book BLINK today. if so, it sounds like something to invest in. if so, how much did it cost you? or are there other companies making similar sounding chairs? sue

that's the same premise behind the swooper. you have to get used to it, like a pair of orthodics, but once you do, its great.
i always wondered about the ball chair as it is considerably more cost effective. but the one thing i liked about the swopper in addition, is the fact that i can tilt forward too, it seems to put my pelvis in the most neutral position for my back muscles.

when i first started out, my back muscles were so weak, i was afraid of the same thing. but the swopper and the ball chairs strengthen your back muscles over time and thus, it makes sitting anywhere easier. its like exercising your back muscles every day while you work. still have to get up and take breaks as it isn't the final solution to the PITA problem, but its a great solution to my back woes.

Hey Sue That is very close to the one that I have...Only alot more expensive.. I hit Office Max and just tried on chairs one day. In fact I think the one I have was a close out. I got it for under $200 I just find that the stretchy mesh even for a big guy doesn't put alot of pressure on the old sits bones. Keep Kickin'AS Chris
