I was thinking of asking my rheumi to give me a predi pack to get over the hump of this last reaction I had since my second remicade infusion.

My question is does anyone take prednisone with their biologics? It seems like overkill but I'm only going to consider it for 5 days.

Yep. Enbrel was only super good for me for the first 1.5 years. After that I had to supplement with prednisone (guess that makes 3.5 years total). For the longest time, pred seemed to do very well taking care of the residual pain that enbrel didn't work for. They were my magic combo for awhile.

I take 5mg of pred daily and am on remicade - I have AS and Crohn's and until the crohn's is in remission the 5mg is just enough to make me feel normal. Along with the nagging throbbing pain in my neck that never goes away from the AS, the 5mg works wonders on that too - I want to get off of the pred because I am afraid of the long term side effects but for now I'm trying to live in the moment, for today, and if 5mg makes all the difference (which it does) then i'm taking it! My doc says the long term risks arent as high since my dosage is very low. Best of luck to you!
