Yes if burn out means running out of inflammable material, then i agree with most of that. I suppose my idle query is that if AS reaction has a twofold stimulation - Kp with B27 when the gut is compromised - then if the gut loses it's damaged status then...
Given no internal Kp, is it possible to lose symptoms more or less permanantly?
A semi-permanant remission like the controlled one that some/many of us achieve with NSD/LSD.
Naturally, there is no reason to suspect any spontaneous gut healing after twenty years of inflammation.
I think there are many of us with good results who question the quality of the food control of the ones who get little improvement - that is why i always recommend fasting - test the waters when there is no gut food at all and not with dubious substitutes, GM foods or processed foods. I will never forget that an "allergic" reaction i had gave me symptoms identical to my AS symptoms and suggest there are many people out there reacting to more than just starch. Of course i stopped my "allergy" by healing my damaged gut.

This is one of the most important issues--that both allergy and immune function are so focused upon our gut integrity and eating the "wrong" foods can devastate all three. And you are further quite right--we don't always know exactly what those foods are.

It is hard to suggest to people that they begin a fast even after they have tried the NSD and had it not work for them, but a fast always got me out of flare and healed my gut with NO repeat ulcers in 17 years. It is almost too bad that I have the trick of the NSD plus antibiotics; after the steroid epidurals and being inactive from the operation I have some serious weight to lose!

G'day,
John

Hi, George:

Glad to see you around, and we hope that golfing there in the Gulf is treating you well...if Dubai is where you are still working from.

Best to You and Pam,
John

Thanks John, i do appreciate the total package aspect in your approach to your own condition and how that helped lead me towards my own relief - even if i use different methods. Grateful that you put in some hard yards - refining around the edges of the basic concepts and supplying your valuable advice.
Hope the weight peels off easily - my time now is of fresh autumnal juicy crunchy apples.

Ted
