Hi Everyone,
Haven't posted in quite some time and just wanted to check in and tell all of you that you are always in my thoughts and prayers even if I don't check in as often as I should. Things are about the same here. Mike has been in a flare forever it seems. We are dealing. Still fighting for SSDI, which has now become a way of life. Sometimes we think it will never happen, but then we remember that God always provides so trying to keep the faith. Have had my own ups and downs, feeling a bit overwhelmed, like I am shoveling crap against the tide. Seems like I work work work and can never get caught up. Have pretty much lost our social life because everything we do depends on how AS will attack Mike that day. It's tough, but still very much thankful that we have each other and our children, despite the challenges. It's a constant effort to remind ourselves that we still have so much to be thankful for. Anyway, hope everyone here is hanging on and keeping the faith. I miss talking to you guys. When life consumes me and I don't show up for awhile, please remember it is not for lack of caring. As I said, you are all in my thoughts and prayers. Take care and hope to be back soon. God bless, Sheila

Hi MrsMal and Mike: Sheila, I appreciate your caring, thoughtful insights. You have a special way of putting thoughts and feelings into words and I am sure many here at kickAS find some solace because of your words. I hope you and Mike start winning some of the bigger battles. Take care...Tom

Hi Tom,
Thanks! I hope you are right, that my words can help others, if even one person, then that is good. As I said I don't get here as often as I should. Somedays I come on and just read and others words help me as well. I am glad Mike found this site and shared it. There are so many good people here. Have a great day! Take care, Sheila

Sheila, thanks so much for checking in and updating us. I am sorry to hear that things continue to be a struggle. In the longrun, I'm certain it will all resolve in your favour, but that doesn't make it any easier for you right now.

You are such an inspiration of strength, Sheila. As is anyone who lives with a chronically ill person. It cannot be easy, yet you persevere out of love. I do understand what you mean about losing your social life. I also have friends who gave up inviting me anywhere. Now that I'm on the Remicade, it's easier to socialize, but my circle is much smaller now. The way I see it, the ones who stuck around are the ones worth seeing and spending time with. I think you know what I mean.

Keep up the fight and know that whether or not you and Mike check in here frequently, you are always in our thoughts and a part of our KA family.

Many hugs,

Kat
