Hi Lisa,

It's been a long time since my kids were young but for the last year I have been blessed by living with my daughter and 4 grandchildren. To experience, once again, the joy of seeing a young child at play has been like a gift from God. So it's no wonder to me that I lost it when I read your post. No matter what the problem is, with a child, it's major. I pray your daughter gets better real soon and NEVER has to go through anything like this again in life. In my world the bad things that happen would happen only to adults. We deserve it, children don't!

God Bless,

Pete

Hi Lisa,

My babies are grown but I haven't forgotten how it feels when they are sick. I hope the nausea goes away for Tori and the sulfamethoprim helps her. She will be in my prayers.

Hi Lisa, aloha

my friend carolyn would chastise me severly if i didn't ask...' your doctor LOOKED at the red spot and said
'staph'...did he test for ANYTHING ? ...did he run a western blot for Lyme Disease ?

your profile doesn't say where you live, but if your daughter is an out of doors girl, rather than house girl;
and you live in an area with woods and deer...a red spot in an area normally covered by clothing...and the
red spot grows in size...you need a test for Lyme while the infiltration is new...

Lyme can be horribly debilitating, does not always get cleared up by the standard treatments...and is
pathetically under diagnosed outside of the northeast...please ask you doctor about this ? and
'oh, you're just being silly is not a good answer' from him.

oh and systemic arthitis is a frequent 'fringe benefit' for Lyme disease.

all the best, hope you're well, good luck wishes for tori

Hi All,

Ok, today is the day!

She just had her first dose of her new medicine.

We put the anti nausea cream on and are hoping for the best. I will tell you that stuff is truly a miracle.

In answer to Aloha Ben, I so appreciate the heads up with Lymes. We live in Oklahoma right in the middle of the suberbs, not that she couldn't get bitten, but I am REALLY good about checking the kids over during bath time. She is more of a girly girl and is not much on outside, but that still could have been a possibility. Thanks so much!

After I told the Dr. about the same situation with my husband about 2 years ago that peaked her interest. I feel like she is staying right on top of this. And I have NO problem voicing my concerns or what I want with my kids.

You guys don't know how much I appreciate all of your thoughts, prayers and concern for us during this trying week. I have not been able to sleep much the last 3 or 4 days, so getting on the computer and seeing kind words have been a God send for me.

I would imagine here in 3 or 4 hours I will know if this medicine will stay down or not. They are 800mg pills, so I halved them so we can try 1 after breakfast, 1 after lunch, 1 after supper, and 1 at bedtime. I don't like that, but I feel this is the best way for her to try and tolerate it.

She is resting on the couch with her Mr. Ryan (kitty) and I think I am going to go lay beside her and try to rest for a bit.

I will get back on in a bit and hopefully have some good news.

Thanks to all,

Lisa

PS. Tori was so excited when I told her that my fellow AS'rs were concerned. She was excited and said to tell everyone Thank you for being so sweet to her.

Ok My Precious Friends,

It is midnight here and all is quiet.

Tori took her last 1/2 of her pill at about 8.

She was having a little nausea, and I asked her if she wanted some of the nausea cream, but she said no.

The sore itself does look much, much better although pushing on it, it is still really hard.

I just hope that it will completely go away.

If she does well thru the night I think we may try school tomorrow.

I am keeping my fingers crossed as we could still have a setback.

I can't help feeling like a bad Mom, like I could have done something to protect her or prevent this.

I know that it has nothing to do with grooming or cleanliness, but it makes me want to just go thru the whole house and clean and wash and throw stuff away.

I have been so worried and high strung that I am running on fumes. I go to bed and I have that restless leg thing. Then I think well crud, I might as well just get up..lol

I will write in the morning and let you know if my little Angel was well enough to go to school.

Thank-you so much again for your thoughts and prayers and kind words.

I have a notebook that is Tori's that I am printing and putting your emails in for her. She has the ones in there from when her kitty (Ryan) went missing and she was so upset.

Tonight I have you all wrapped in my arms with love and hoping for better days for all of us.

Angelmom, You, and your whole family, especially Tori is in our famly's prayers. Like moonbees said, wish we could do more than prayers, yet I believe this is very powerfull!

You'll be blessed very soon, a gift from God, I do so believe it. Just watch! Lay your hands on Tori and just bless her, and believe, believe in the Powers to heal.

May she get better sooner than you think.

Warm greetings

Many healing thoughts and prayers headed your way.

I was relieved to hear she's managing a bit better. Please take care of yourself too as I know this has been a rough period for you. The added stress of the wee ones infection, that you so dutifully paid prompt attention too (kudos) must to kept to a minimum as much as possible.

best to you all,
Klem
