Hi Lisa,

Sorry to hear your daughter is having such a tough time. I wouldn't hesitate to take her back in to see the doc if you feel the need, especially since you mention it's already moved past the ink line. Docs realise that Mom's can't help but worry and will want to re-check her, if only to ease your fears.

I wish her all the best, and a speedy recovery.
Take good care,

Dear Lisa

Two summers ago, one of my sons had a minor pimple go to a major nasty in about two days. Even after starting the antibiotics, he had fever and nausea. When the doctor heard that he wasnt improving, he got me to bring him in and he surgically drained it. After that, my son got better, but was very tired and weak for several days after.(it wasnt an instant recovery).

Bacterial infections can be sudden and really bad. You did the right thing getting her to the doctor right away. Its the suddenness of seeing your child so sick that hits a parent really hard.

I'm sure your little girl will be better soon. She just might be wobbly for a about a week before she get her normal bounciness back.

take care BlueNorthern

Lisa, I'm so sorry to hear that little Tori isn't well. I am sending white light and love as I type and will continue sending until we hear that she's all healed up.

Please let us know what the doc says today. I know how frightened you are, so here's a hug for you.

Many hugs,

Kat

Hi Lisa

As is a part of your life, but it is not your life. Post about what ever you need to post about.

Celebrate with us, cry with us or just chat with us. That is why we are here. We are an extended family.

I know what it is like to have a sick child. I dont have have AS, my son Eric does. He was dx at 9 with AS, and at 13 was dx with crohns.

Eric spent 2 weeks in the hospital last year, and I stayed with him.

I am telling you all of this, because that was the best place for him to be.

If Tori does need to stay in the hospital, it is hard, but it is also for the best.

When our children are sick, we worry and fret. When they get that sick, our hearts break....I know.

Tori will be in our prayers. Please let us know how she makes out.

I know what you are going through, and I know that it is not easy. You will get through it.

Heck....with all of us here pulling for you, how could you not?

Good luck, and may an angel sit on your daughters shoulder to keep her safe.

Hugs
Lori

Hi Guys!

Well, we just got back from the Dr. and we are safe from the hospital for 1 more day.

She has been so sick today..she hasn't been able to keep anything down.

The Dr. prescribed syringes of promethazine for the nausea...you put it on her wrists or abdomen and it makes it where she doesn't feel so sick. We have done the first dose and so far so good.

She also prescribed sulfamethoprim which I did NOT know is generic for Bactrim. Bactrim makes me horribly sick and my oldest daughter too. In fact I have never known anyone that has been able to tolerate it.

She is not going to start it until tomorrow, if she can not tolerate this drug she may have to go to the hospital for IV antibiotics.

Keep your fingers crossed, I am praying for a good result.

Will let you know later how she is doing, looks like she might get a 2 week spring break..lol

Thinking of you and Tori. I'm sure she will be OK, sounds like you are keeping a close eye on her, what a good mum!

Hope things improve soon.

I am so sorry to hear of Tori's situation. Just know that she will be in my daily
prayers for a speedy recovery.
I know you will make sure she follows the doctors instructions. It is so hard for
a child of this age to keep quiet.

Take care,
Doreen

Lisa!
I went through this just three months ago...I got "zits, boils, etc", on my neck...under my jaw and on my neck...so everyone could see them!!! I thought my shavers were blunt and aggravating the skin...and these were boil like acne that I have had in the past on my back from AS flare ups...(I'm pretty sure)...

So, I go to my dermatologist, who says, "you have a staph infection", and gives me antibiotics that somewhat cured it (still some scarring and lumps)..but get THIS...my dad read about a type of antibiotic resistant staph bug that is transmitted through GYMS AND SPAS.....and I had been going to a gym since August, for the first time in ten years or so....hmmmmmm...apparently football players were getting bruised on the field, then going into the locker room, and getting infected...a whole team got the drug resistant staph...

check it out...and hang in there...wash hands with antibacterial soap every chance you get, use Purel or others when at work, etc...

Peace
Linc
