My first shot in the doctors office they had me shoot myself in the stomach. I didn't look at all the nurse told me OK it in push the plunger. OK the plunger is all the way down you can take it out now. Then when I got home and had to give my self the second shot. I thought now I have to watch. It is not that bad now. I did hesitate before poking myself in the thigh last night, but it didn't hurt.

Keep rocking.

Woo Hoo Linc! Bravo! The hardest part (the 1st shot) is over.

I think assembling the parts is worse than actually giving yourself the shot! As for room temperature - I was told to keep it cold and give myself the shot as soon as possible after taking it from the refrigerator.

I hope you get results soon.

Regards,

Sherree

p.s. I remember the song your title came from. Wow.

I too, was told to give myself the shot righ tout of the fridge. Hmmm!! I wonder what is the truth! But - CONGRATS anyway. The first shot for me was a bit like diving in to the pool. You just have to do it and get it over with. Then it's not so bad. It certainly didn't hurt the way I feared it would. Now I mind having to assemble everything more that I mind the shot. Except - I always get a hard lump under my skin where it pools up and I hate that. Does anyone know how to avoid that?

I usually hold a paper towel on the spot I just injected and sort of press on it. Don't rub. It seems to help flatten and disperse the "lump" somewhat. It also seems to help me not bruise. I do get a red spot and a bit of hardness the next day, but then it's gone.

I'm sure others may have better solutions, but that's what I do.

Hope that helps.

I always let the Enbrel get to room temp before injecting... Disperses better and don't get the little burn you will feel if fresh from the refrigerator.. Hesitated for the first few shots and had to psych myself up to make the stick but now it is easy... One little tip - look at the tip of the needle and you will see a taper... Keep the taper away from you and the needle has less sting...
