Sorry to hear of your predicament Maggie. Waiting to find test results etc is one of the worst things. Hang in there. I'm sure all will be Ok and hopefully you won't have to wait 2 months. My best wishes are with you.

Maggie : Now I had Wolfe Parkinson White Syndrome which is an arrythmia which causes an occaisional racing heart .For this I had a open heart surgery with a dissection and ablation of the bundle of Kent which was an electrical short circuit of the hearts own pacing system that got short circuited.I worked in a company here in Silicon Valley that happened to be developing the first truly tiered therepy implantable defibrillator with pacemaker that was successful. The doctors who had just implantanted our first 4 devices in August 1989 knew exactly how to fix me and did it.Some of the geniouses from our company subsequently developed a method to use radio frequency ablation that elimenated having to saw open the the patients breast bone and burn away the offending electrical pathway.
My Electrophysiologist/Cardiologist as well as Dr. John Reveille (who is doing all the the work on siblings with Ank.Spond.) have said that The WPW Heart arrythmia that I had is mutually exclusive to the Ankylosing Spondylitis and was just a coincidence in my case. There are apparently heart problems that are associated with AS such as valve problems.Having heart problems can be very scary.you are welcome to contact me via private messages if you would prefer. God bless you and I hope you do well!

Knowledge is power, better you know and get treatment for whatever problem exists than to be in blissful ignorance and have a really serious encounter with mortality. I found out I had a heart problem after having a problem with exercised induced high BP, have a valve problem, not serious at this point but now being monitored, and will have to be on antibiotics for dental procedures (even cleaning, or especially cleaning) and have been told to get to a doc ASAP even for what I think is a cold because if it's a bacterial infection I also need to be on antibiotics. Scary stuff, the heart, but good treatments out there, now that you know there IS a problem.

((Maggie)) I know how terrifying it is when your heart is going crazy. When I first started getting sick ( a long time ago) we made pretty regular trips to the ER in the middle of the night with my heart beating too fast to count. With Beta Blockers and getting off the caffiene we finally got it calmed down. I did (and probably should now) stay under the care of a cardiologist. I haven't had that problem in a long time and I will pray for you that yours can be calmed down and not flare up again. My kids (who are grown now) laugh and tease now about our "Keystone Cop" routine in the middle of the night trying to find the keys and get Mom off to the ER. Funny now. Not a bit funny now. I will be thinking of you today.

Hi Maggie!

In reply to:

She said " I'm just researching about AS but it isn't auto immune "

Yep! That's a problem alright when the doc. is clueless .
I'm so glad your educating her Maggie love . It sounds like your doing everything you can to take care of that big beautiful heart of yours. Please know I'm thinking of you and wishing only best results to come.

PS: now that the game is over you can relax again eh?

peace & love

Holy Cow Maggie....

In reply to:

Wanna hear something that will knock your socks right off ???????

I was reading this at work this morning... not only did it knock my socks off... but my trousers, shirt and shoes as well. I was left with just my briefs.... (cue screams from all the female coworkers)

Hope you get some good answers quickly.... you are correct that it can become scarey when you start talking about the heart.

I will continue to put you in my prayers.

Tim

Hope is only a post away with KickAS.
