Hi David

Good idea, I should provide her with links. Don't think I'll give her this one though - she'd be able to read me talking about her

I've been to worse doctors in my time. I think I have this one trained to take me very seriously now. I guess I should have been much more persistent when I first told her about this. Now I know that I should be more forcefull.
I wish we had both learned our lesson over a scratch or something - not the heart.

Thanks again

Maggie

Hi Ben

I hope you're right about the warp speed but I don't think that happens unless you are a hockey player or a member of parliament.
I'll be willing to take bets on how long it takes. - I say 2 months.

You're right about training the doctor. I'm working on it. As I said to David though, it's too bad that I had to start the training around something so serious.

Well, I figure, If I can get over this hurdle, the rest of the journey should be a breeze.

Thanks Ben

Hey maggie,

Good for you for educating your doc further. There isn't anything I can say to make you not worry about what is going on with your body, but I can tell you I will be praying for you to have a sound mind until you find out what is going on. I agree with joy2all about thinking positive. The alarm bells going off in your doctors head might be the fact that you are the patient and he/she is the doctor and you know more about what AS is. That would make me feel a little embarassed if I were a doctor. Keep us posted on your situation.

((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))

Hi Eric.

I'll probably be staying with her but now I'll also have a rheumy, a cardiologist and an opthamologist.
Wow - how special is that !!!!!!!!!

Good advice Eric - stay strong - I like it

Thanks

Hi Patricia

I think you are right - if it was urgent, I would have heard faster. Well, I'm banking on that anyway !!!!!!
My doc figured panic attacks too. Now they seem to have found something. Still could turn out to be nothing I suppose.
Who knows - now I play another waiting game.

Thanks for your kind words Patricia. You and everyone else have been so kind.
It helps enormously.

Thanks Scott

You could be right. The sound I heard was not bells but embarrasment
I have a feeling that next time I see her, she will have a little more AS knowledge. To her credit though, she did diagnose me, B27 and all, not long after my first visit with her back in 2001. Trouble is, I guess her knowledge was cut off at that point. Strange huh ?

I'm trying to stay positive.
I started yoga recently ( hmm, should make another post about that )and it has helped me enormously. I think I would be a complete basket case without it.

Scott, you have the same name as my son. I am pretty sure he has AS but he won't listen much to my telling him. When I first saw Scott 007 - I thought it was him

Thanks again

That is cute. You would have been quite young or non existing. Probably non existing. I hope your son gets a wise ear soon just to make sure. Does he come on here at all or look over your shoulder?

On the other part:

Yes it is a bit strange. I would figure if she knew she had a patient with AS she would want all the knowledge she could get. I think you may have wised her up.

I doubt I was non existing
Scott is all grown up and dosn't live with his mummy anymore.

I have been thinking a lot about his probability of having AS lately. Now that I see the incredible complications I seem to be encountering, I think it is high time that I give little Scotty a nudge off to the doc.

I hope the doc is wised up. Hopefully her next AS patient will benefit.
