Hi Danose,
Really sorry to hear your surgery had complications....I went into both of mine fully aware of the many things that could happen. I pushed my luck twice within 16wks & my outcome has been superb.....from the 1st surgery (chin on chest) I have some numbness in my forearms, outer left hand (pinky finger), thighs, middle of my chest + my right eye is smaller than before due to a condition called horners syndrome (a nerve was nicked in my neck whuch causes the side of the face to droop, but in time it can get better & mine has greatly improved & people don't notice unless I say something) However those areas are slowly improving.....from the larger 2nd surgery on my thoracic spine I've got numbness in my left lower abs (its sometimes more noticeable than other times), this numbness is because the surgeon had to tie off a nerve & he knew that I would have this numbness....I also have numbness and possible nerve damage to my left pec muscle from laying on it for 14hrs....however its now almost 6wks since the 2nd op & its improving. I also have numbness around the back & sides of my head from where they attached claps....again slowly getting better. Overall the numbness isn't painful, hasn't given me any issues. The healing of my spine will take over a year so I'm hopeful things will regenerate. Today I did my 1st exercise session & I'm feeling great.....I took my 2 boys to the cinema twice this weekend & we're going again next weekend (I hadn't been in over 8yrs,in fact I haven't done anything fun in over 8yrs).....I really gambled to get my life back, yes my life improved drastically after my 1st op & I could have lived a half decent life & yes the 2nd op was partly a vanity issue but overall I knew it would improve my life in so many ways that I had to go for it....I've obviously been very lucky to have 2 successful surgeries & already be back on my feet after only 5wks, well actually I was back home, driving & on my feet after 2wks so yes things went really well for me & continue to improve everyday.

Therefore it truly breaks my heart to hear other people's experiences weren't so good...I'm so sorry you didn't get the result you wanted from the neck surgery & obviously after what you've gone through a 2nd surgery is a big issue + would a surgeon even consider doing it....I hope things improve for you & maybe in time you'll get yourself fixed. Always have hope, you never know what the future holds.

Good luck to you:)
