The Cooling Inflammation blog presents the best case, in my opinion, for eating fruit and veggies at all. Not for their nutrients, but for the bacteria that comes along with them, and feed on them. He still recommends a high-fat, low to no-starch, no-wheat, no-legume diet.
I believe you are wrong on this one. He recomends a low starch diet, rich in vegetable/legumes, low sugar (wich also means about 1-2 fruits per day). He considers that animal fat is better than omega-6 fats from vegetables. It supposed to be based fundamentaly on omega3 fats (wich are supposed to be taken carrefully because if inflamation is pressent omega-3 oils can make things worse) than come from fish and fish oils.
And he is a doctor, but a doctor in microbiology, and not a Doctor in the sense we use it
