If the H.E. is deployed immediately, the oil could be reclaimed. How reclaimable it is is dependent on how long it's been in the ocean and how 'foamed' it is. In this case, there are also the chemical disbursants to deal with. It would have to be disposed of as environmentally responsibly as possible. I don't know much about these things, but I would think the chemicals would have contaminated the oil, making it pretty useless. As I said, however, I don't know. It may be it could be purified. The engineers could answer that better than me, really.

There are tons of solutions being proposed. Lon mentioned the hay one (thanks for that, Lon, I hadn't heard about it). There's also the hair collection going on from that guy in California, I think. Ask Michelle about hair and oil. She has quite a good story about how she discovered that solution.

Kevin Costner is there right now, testing his reclamation solution. I'm curious to know if it was his being tested on Saturday when we tried to get down to the one location.

The fact is, it's been reported in several news oulets that about 10,000 solutions have been presented to BP and every one has been rejected. BP says the tried and 'true' solutions work just fine. I don't know about that.

My sweetie's been working all day with our guys in the States to work out the next steps in more detail.

Warm hugs,

Kat
