Now that I read another post that Brad made tonight, I can remember the name of the med I though was most effective against fracture pain. It was Methadone.

Go ask your doctor for a "rib belt", I think you can buy them too. They are nothing but a giant elastic bandage to wrap once around your ribs, but it sure helped me and my fractures (with the help of pain meds of course). I never actually 'broke' any body parts though, so this may or may not help. I'm hoping it would though.
