Wow that must be terrible having AS and broken ribs is not good Like Wendy said I hope its not affecting your breathing too much you dont need pneumonia as well.
Sorry I cant be off more help. I know that in the UK they dont strap broken ribs anymore not sure why might be because of it restricting the breathing even more.
