Beth, I am sorry and realise the registration process can be frustrating, yet I'm delighted that you persevered to join in with us and thankful something brought you out of the woodwork!

The user guide might be helpful but keep in mind that some functions are turned 'off', (such as direct uploading), so not everything will apply. For beginners it may be more confusing than helpful or may not provide enough navigation detail. Please always feel free to ask, someone is sure to pipe up with an answer.

Basic steps to - starting a new post:
1. For posting privileges, you need to register to become a member and make sure to be logged in. (membership is free!)

2. On the Main Index page is a list of all the forums.
  • Look under the heading 'General Discussion'
  • Locate and click on the first forum, titled: #1 AS Web Support Group.

3. Once you're on the #1 AS Web Support Group forum page, you'll find...
  • The KickAS banner centred at the top, below which are a few horizontal rows.
  • Find the one that reads, Welcome (your name) on the left side and a menu grouping of words on the right side My Home/ Main Index/ Search/ Who's Online/ FAQ etc.
  • The next row beneath is key! On the right side of your screen, look for this group of 5 buttons...
    Post | Previous | Index | Next | Expanded or Collapsed (views)
  • Clicking on the left button in the group, called Post... takes you onto a page to craft a new top-level post!
  • Type in a Subject and the body of your message, scroll to the bottom of your screen and click 'Continue' and presto, your post will appear under the list of subjects and near the top for everybody to read and begin replying.

    Also worth mentioning, before hitting Continue you can choose to tick the 'I want to preview my post' which shows how it will display and provide a chance to edit. Once you're ready, click the 'Ok Submit' button.

Play around to become familiar by clicking on things, you really can't break anything I promise! I remember being nervous initially too but once you dive in a few times you'll soon get the hang of it and begin to explore farther. I hope these directions help and encourage everyone to join in. It's fun!!
