Hi all,
I have been diagnosed with Psoriatic Arthritis even though I have only ever had a couple of tiny patches on my skin, along with AS. Since March the AS has gone from my hip, leg (tendonitis) and sacroiliac joints, up my spine and now my neck. I can now look back to being a young child, having heel spurs/pain and always have had back pain. It took until my mid thirties for things to flare up after having two children to being unbareable and making me unable to sleep or do normal activites without suffering terribly. I take anit inflammatories, pain meds (slow release), drugs to help me sleep, magnesium for spasms and now valium as the spasms are so bad that I merely doze in between them. My Rhuemy told me that Methaltrexate will help the Psoriatic Arthritis but not the AS and I couldn't tolerate the Prednisolone as I couldn't sleep and became extremely anxious on it. From reading forums I have found out about Enebrel and Remicade and am wondering why my Rhuemy didn't tell me about them before. I also take 40mg of Nexium for reflux which I have always had but the drugs make it worse. It would seem to be to be bettter to try Enbrel before a chemo drug surely? I know everyone is different. Any thoughts on this? I am seeing the Rhuemy Wednesday. Ps am in Australia.
Would appreciate any thought son this:)
