Sorry I haven't been on in a while. I've been having kidney issues myself. My last lumbar MRI showed a possible renal cyst measuring 11cm. Before anything else happened, I ended up in the ER with extreme flank pain (in my back, just under the ribs). UA came back with microscopic hematuria. Went to my regular doc and they put me on Cipro right away in case of infection. Came back with no infection. Off to the Urologist. Did an ultrasound that showed a stone in my right kidney measuring between a half and an inch in size. Off for a CT Scan, then plain X-ray. Back to the Urologist. He said they x-ray shows a kidney stone measuring 3mm that wouldn't cause pain or blood in my urine. He said the CT Scan, which he claims is most accurate, showed NOTHING and he said that ultrasounds are never accurate. Now, the puzzling part; he said to come back in 2 weeks and they'd do some dye in my bladder....I've never had a UTI, kidney problem, STD or even a yeast infection. So basically 4 tests with 4 different results and I'm still in pain.
I wish I knew what to tell you and don't want to scare you, but I think some of the stuff we end up with, they can't ever figure out. I'm going back to my family doctor, who has been the most helpful, tomorrow. I'm taking all the test results and we'll see what he says.
The funny thing is that he's the only one that agrees that I have AS.
Lord only knows!
I would ask for a stronger antibiotic like Cipro. That's what they first put me on when they thought the blood in my urine was caused by infection.
I'm the same way, I'm peeing about 20 times a day but I always feel the need to go....yet all they claim to find is a stone the size of a bb in the middle of my kidney.
Anyone have an answer for this one??
Ugh. Another day in the AS life.
Good luck, I hope you are feeling better by now.

I just want my life back so I can be a better mommy!
