Here in BC a lot of people take cranberry juice or cranberry extract pills to get rid of bladder infections or to avoid them ( if its something they get often).
Bacteria will hop in and start to grow in places they shouldnt if something changes in your insides. Taking certain medicines for example will change the acid level in your bladder and you can get unwanted tenants.
The theory is that drinking cranberry juice will make your bladder tissues more acid. My mother wouldnt be without her cranberry pills, I can tell you.
Ask your pharmacist if taking cranberry juice will upset any medications you're taking. (you might not be able to drink it ALONG with your pills for example). If they say its all right, give it a try, it might speed up getting rid of those awful symptoms.
