Hi All, Just thought I would post about what is happening here,in N.S.W Australia. We are having really bad bushfires,our firies have been fighting these monsters for days,we have help from other states.So far the fires are about a 1 hour drive from where I am.I had to go into the city yesterday to see my rheummie,lucky I left when I did,they stopped the trains,and closed the roads to my area.My 19 year old daughter was visiting a friend in the city,she hasen`t been able to get home yet.She is fairly safe where she is though. Could everyone please pray for our firies to be safe,they are my heroes!!!!!! Take care Shirley

Things are getting worse around Sydney again today due to very high winds that started late last night. Fires are running out of control to the north, west and south of the city and fires are also occurring in the suburbs not far from the city centre. Basically the city has been ringed by fires again.The fire guys are having a hell of a time protecting homes and controlling the fires. Homes have been lost over the last few days, I think the last count was somewhere in the mid 20's. These are people that have lost everything and here we are just a few weeks away from Christmas... so as Shirley said, please send prayers for the firies but also include some for the people who have lost everything. Kinda weird sitting here snowed in in NC and having 6+" of snow at home in NY, and reading about a post about brush fires. My thoughts are with my brother and sister firefighters out there in the heat of summer with this. I've been there, done that, will be there again. How about a couple of thoughts/prayers for the families of the firefighters out there. They need it too. I know how tough it is on my wife and kids every brush season. My prayers are with the men and women fighting the fires for their safety, and their familys. Erics dad is a fire fighter, and it can be a scary thing for the familys. Prayers also being sent to all those who have lost their homes to the terrible fires..... God speed to all. Lori

Dear Shirley & Anon My thoughts and prayers are with both of you and your families and all those in the NSW region... Praise and thanks to all the volunteers and firefighters who are bravely fighting what has become a very very dangerous situation... Please keep us posted... Thinking of you both... Take Care

Thanks Ann, There doesn`t seem to be as much smoke around my area,but I believe the fires are a bit closer now.I heard that theyare expecting a bad night.I was a bit scared this afternoon,there was so much smoke around.I packed a bag for me and my son,made sure my cats were inside,all prepared,I hope.
