Just got word today at the study visit that they are talking about extending the study past next September. They are unsure of how much longer. They are looking long term results. Cindy, you and I as well as the others that started the study last winter may just have lucked out.

Had my dr. appt yesterday and its a no on the enbrel. I am on the highest dosage of remicade at the most frequent rate (6 vials every 4 weeks). He said there is no equivalent for that on enbrel, I would just get the minimum dosage. So he wants me to stay on the remicade. I would appreciate your info on how you are doing since you are one of the few I have seen switch from one to the other. What was your dosage and frequency of remicade? I hope enbrel works well for you. Please keep up informed.

HI all, I am sorry I have not been on this threat. I am visiting my family in Texas. I wanted to spend time with my
mother(she is 83 years young). I have not spend a Christmas with my family in the past 33 years. So I decided
to come home to Texas and be with them. I have taken about 8 shots now of Enbrel. I have not notice any
Big different in my body. I sleep a little better. But maybe because I am lying on a Pillow top mattress. My sister
bought it just before I got to her house in Texas. I am just thrill to be here. 33 years gone from home. Oh ok
thanks for the rest of my AS family for coming and inputting information about Enbrel. Thanks again and I hope
all ofyou have a wonderful Christmas and New Year holidays. God Bless and keep you safe.

Dan

Dqan,

I noticed something within a few days. But the real change occured three months out. That is when I knew that I no longer needed a NSAID.

The first month was a big adjustment for me. Experienced depression, and high blood pressure for the first time in my life. Also, got really sick.
All issues resolved within a few weeks except the BP. I remain on Lotrel for the BP.

Depression passed and has never returned. It was really strange. I felt that I was in another body, Thank God....it did not last.

HI Betty,
Well, I am in San Antonio now. I passed you lovely city of Dallas earlier in the month. On Enbrel, I really can't see any change except my sleeping has gotten better. My bones don't ache that much like they use to. But I still hurt if I walk for more than 15 mins. The pain shoot down my left leg and my ankle feels like my bone are hitting each other....you know no cushion. Ok Betty, maybe on my way back up I can stop and meet you. Just a thought. Thanks for keeping me up on Enbrel. I am on my ninth shot tmorrow Saturday. I give my shots on Wed and Sat of the week. You take care and have a wonderful Christmas.

Dan,

Sorry to hear about the continued pain. Sounds like prior mechanic problems.

There are a lot of us in the Texas area. Several in San Antonio, Waco, Dallas, Allen, Denton, etc.

Are you driving ??? That has to be rough.
How long will you be staying in Texas?
Would love to meet you...maybe some other ASer's can meet in Dallas as well.

Hi Betty,
Yes, I am staying here until the second week of January. Last year I met Lady Bug and her husband here in San Antonio. I am going up to Del City Oklahoma on my way back to Virginia. So I will probably past Dallas or Ft Worth on the way up to OK. Yes, I drive and I hate flying. Yes its probably mechincal. My bones are pretty fused. My SI joints have lots of fusion. But I bear the pain. My rhuemy is trying Enbrel to see how it does on me. He tried Kineret but no good results. I hope Enbrel will at least keep the Flare-ups away. Ok Betty. You take care and If you can plan a meeting with the other AS'er from Texas around January I will come...
Dan
