Hello all I have been having this needle like pain in right eye which is a REAL ouchy. I have heard that AS affects the eyes so I am curious to see if anyone has had this and what it might be. Should I be concerned??? All I know is it hurts like the dickens :( The pain makes the eye water to the point where the right eyes is just shutting. It really feels like a needle is being inserted into the pupil area ..... Ugggggggg . Any suggestions or knowledge as to what I am describing would be greatly appreciated . hugzzzzzz to all .... Hi Tammy, You need to be checked by an opthalmologist. It could be iritis--inflammation of the iris--which causes pain, redness, watering, and sensitivity to light. It will only get worse if left untreated. Please have it checked ASAP and let us know what you find out. Good luck. Connie

Dear Tammie: Don't even wait...if they cannot see you at the opthamologists immediately, go take care of the iritis in emergency--it is a seriously damaging condition that requires quick intervention to avoid permanent problems. If almost any intensity of light feels like a stabbing pain (photophobia), it is surely iritis. Good luck and please let us know how it works out. John

I had a recent experience like this. My eye doctor did some light tests on my eye and made sure that I didn't have Iritis. One thing he said was any kind of light in the eyes, will make you scream with pain. The guys that responded with you told me the same thing and I got an appointment the next day. For me it was an allergic reaction to some new makeup. But your eyes are nothing to mess with. Hope everything turns out OK.

Yes, it sounds like Iritis. Best to get in ASAP to get it checked. Please do not let it go. I had to learn the hard way and am still dealing with it 6 months later. I hope everything works out well for you. Please let us know what you find out.
