I haven't posted here in a long time except the occasional reply. I do love this place and thank all the folks who envisioned it and work to keep it going

A lot of you made me laugh some of my best laughs and some of your losses impacted me more than you know

This summer 40 years into battling AS at the age of 56 I had my toughest challenge. I was in a car accident and fractured C7. Broken neck are the last words and person with AS wants to hear. It is 4 months since my crash and miraculously I back to my old self. My artificial hips survived the crash without damage. I'm a little more bent but amazingly kickin'AS as goid as ever

This disease can never take away my fight or my joy. My girls are now almost 17 and looking at college. I am one very lucky ASkicker and lots of support for nearly 20 years from this place has kept me going

Thank you

It is so good to hear from you. I am glad you came through your accident. I think sometimes that we deal with AS so much when something else hits us we have to double down and get through it.
I had shoulder surgery in September ended up with blood clots in my lungs and a heavy dose of pneumonia, just starting to feel better. Your post really hit home thanks man, I have always derived inspiration from the way you have dealt with adversity head on. Keep up the fight.

Glad you came through the accident without lasting damage. I've always admired your positivity regardless of what you are dealing with. Maybe that comes with a houseful of girls. Keep up the good work.

Sorry to hear about the blood clots and the surgery. I think you are right. We deal with AS every day so when something else comes along we are up to the task

I figure I meet a lot of angry miserable people every day in my line of work. AS has given me plenty of reasons to be one too but I'd rather be the guy in the crowd with a smile on my face trying to encourage another smile or two. I can't tell my girls to fight through adversity with a positive attitude if I'm not doing it my very best

Hopefully they notice

A house full of girls keeps me on my toes or in the yard doing work to escape the chaos.

My little ladies ain't so little any more. Two taller than me and the third thankfully appreciates being the smallest

Not smart enough to upload pictures.

Glad to still have all of you ASKicjers telling your stories, sharing information and encouragement. You've done a lot of that over the years

Thank you

Hey, stevec!

Great to see Your post, and sorry about the accident (You didn't tell us--there is a lot we can to with our positive energies).

Will always remember that pizza You sent to us in Vegas; I only ate the toppings of course.

Keep on in HEALTH,
John

Steve-
It is good to hear from you!
I can still faintly remember your voice when I called you after surgery that day! Your wife handed you the phone.

17, your girls are 17!!!! You are a blessed man!

You are ALSO ONE TOUGH hombre'.
