Hello, Ako:

Professor Ebringer is retired, but very willing to answer specific questions. I have a list prepared and if You are anyone else is interested, please submit them in this thread. I suppose what is new is really old; the more research done the more the "microbiome" is blamed! Shameful they cannot be more honest or learn how to identify the germ involved (it is apparently difficult to isolate and culture).

Thanks for the posting.

John

Would love to read Q and A from dr.Ebringer.I have Crohn's Disease and from my research dr.Ebringer,s theory is the one i find most probable from my own experience with diet and all the research i have done.I wanted to ask does dr.Ebringer thinks raw sheep milk could be problematic for Klebsiella spread.Raw sheep milk saved my life,i drank it a lot before resection of a stricture which blocked my intestines.Still drinking it ,never had any bad reactions.Besides the milk my diet is basicaly meat,eggs.fish.raw sheep milk aged cheese, home made kefir. What are the latest informations in regarding to Crohn's Disease,Klebsiella and diet.I can confirm that my major bowel problems, blockages and visits to ER and later operations were triggered by starch foods.I am certain there is a connection.Would love to hear all the informations available, thank you.

Hello, mosconi411

Regret I am no longer in direct contact with Professor Ebringer; I learn about his situation from his son, Lawrence. Certainly, Ebringer would not like to issue an opinion on something that he did not study and there is no scientific data relating to raw sheep's milk. I can extrapolate from my own reading that this might be superior to regular pasteurized milk for many reasons, a couple to wit--enzymes related to digestion, and lower level of lactose that encourages less bacterial growth.

Many years ago, I had a friend with Crohn's and I always knew that it must have been closely related to AS: We had identical symptoms just a few months apart! Regret she was a smoker which had by then been shown to have a strong connection; only many years later I pieced together the reason for this.

Studying Klebsiella, it came to my attention that, when in colonies, the group produces a coating called a muccopolysaccharide, which acts as a glue and helps camouflage the group by collecting cellular waste bits. HOWEVER, it becomes obvious (to me) that this "glue" could account for the strictures so often encountered in Crohn's. This is another reason I advocate liberal use of ExtraVirginOO, reinforced by the work of Dr. Stephen Gundry.

We each have some level of dysbiosis due to AS and the modern diet and certainly SIBO which was the primary engine behind my AS, and I think that the primary reason I can no longer trigger symptoms of AS is because I eliminated SIBO; Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth using my own antibiotic protocol, described in my link within my signature.

Hello John,

Thanks so much for replying.
I am sorry you are no longer in contact with professor Ebringer,i hope he is doing well,i know his age,if you can share anything i would be grateful.I have researched a lot and my gut instinct tells me Professor Ebringers theory is most probable even for my Chrons.I am so grateful to him, currently reading his book about Ankylosing S.
Anyway i continue with my journey and my strategy to keep my chrons in remision ,with professors Ebringer theory in mind.
Time will tell if it really works.I am very strict in my diet, have no problems living of only raw sheep milk if i had to,already done it.I also have SIBO,permanently i would say since they removed the part of the intestine where small connects to large and with that they removed my illeocecal valve which was a gate keeper for bad bacteria entering small intestine. So far ,for a long time i have managed to be well with my diet +other things i am doing like infrared light therapy ect.
Yeah Chrons and AS use same biologics for managing the disease. From my understanding the attacts the collagen in the intestines cause it has similar structure to Klebsiella proteins and thats the cause of strictures and thickening of the intestinal wall.
I have read also about the theory of MAP bacteria causing chrons but from my research i like prof.Ebringers theory.
Best of health,

Mosconi
