Hi Bak, yes fine thanks. Since getting better over a year ago as described in my post I've stayed well. In fact my blood results continue to improve. At one point when I was unwell my ESR was at 76, now it is down to 5. This reflects the lack of inflammation I feel. So it feels great to be better and I try always to appreciate that. I still have some residual lumps on my finger knuckles and my ankles still look a little swollen from how they once were. Also not all my flexibility has returned. But overall I feel completely well. I still keep taking all the supplements I mentioned but now eat whatever I like. Good luck on your healing journey and I hope you can post your success story here one day. Chris

In over 60 years of A.S. I have taken no supplements. For such things to be of any use you must believe in them and as I don't I see no point in my taking such things. Best of luck to those of you who do. If it works for you then go for it.

Hey Frederick,

you're right: one must believe for it to work.

I guess that is why pharmaceuticals choose to kill me; I simply don't believe in them.

Cheers!
Robin

So they keep me alive as I must be making them a fortune. Greedy [*bleep*]!

Hi Ann1965, thanks for your message and good wishes. I hope you get better soon too. The supplements I currently take are as follows:
First thing in the morning: 1 pint or more of water, 1 x Bio Kult probiotic capsule, 2 x cod liver oil capsules, a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in warm water, and a spoonful of sauerkraut.
With breakfast: an 'iodoral' iodine tablet and 1 combined vitamin D3 and K2 tablet.
Mid morning: about a litre of water and another Bio Kult capsule.
Mid afternoon: about a litre of water and another Bio Kult.
After dinner: a fish oil capsule.
Most of these supplements are inspired from doing the GAPS diet. I believe that drinking plenty of water is essential to everyone to stay healthy.
Finally I also use a magnesium spray as soon as I get up, and also have a 3 monthly B12 injection from my doctor. I found a lot of useful and inspiring reading around vitamins and supplements on the blog healthfully.net
It might sound like a lot of supplements but I've never taken medications. I also try to avoid antibiotics if at all possible and anything else that is likely to adversely affect gut health. Best wishes to you all, Chris

Thanks Ann! Also I forgot to mention - it's not exactly a 'supplement' – but still very simple and beneficial for health I believe. That is I squeeze the juice of 1 lemon into the litre of water I have mid-morning. Again I got the idea of the benefits of doing this from the blog healthfully.net I believe it alkalises the system which is beneficial in a lot of ways. I started doing this around the time I began to feel better and have continued it ever since.
