Hi John,

I completed 7 days of borage oil. I am not finding any relief. May be everyone is different.

How about probiotics. Will it be helpful in my case?

Jay

Hello, Jay:

I would not suggest probiotics normally except after a prolonged fast or antibiotic usage.

When I first began NSD, my results were very spotty and I might not have continued except for my fasting experiences that convinced me of the food connection. It was not until I cycled through the bactericidal agents a couple of times that NSD began to work alone (without any help or antibiotics), so I think it is all about from where we begin.

Perhaps You can investigate antibiotic agents in general and find a competent physician willing to help; I admit that I did not rely upon my doctors for prescriptions when I could just cross the border and buy whatever I wanted. I did have help from some friendly microbiologists.

Or, just investigate more on the Mercola site:
NSAIDs

Hope You find something useful to You soon!

John

Hello John,
Thank you. I will try to find detail on antibiotic. Initially I will google. I doubt whether any physician will help. I will get some basic detail and come back.

Are You planning to visit India?. Official?

Hello DragonSlayer,

Thank you John for yet another lead. That NSD for AS group you suggested was so great to be a part of. And the reason why I almost stopped visiting here for a while.

It'd be fun to host you over while you visit India. I'll just have to figure out what I could treat you to. ;-)

Thanks and Regards,
Saurabh.

Hello, Jay:

I am updating my AP for AS, and will send You a copy when finished, if You would like.

Yes, planning on October this year (knock wood) but something always comes up--this time if DPRK causes some nuclear mischief locally, we will go directly to Philippines.

I lived there 1995-7 total about 1 year, mostly in Saket section of Delhi but also in Shimla (Shogi) and took time to travel to Bangalore, Chennai, Goa, Kerala, Ooti, Mumbai, and Nepal. It will be great to see old friends and new.

Hi, Saurabh:

Yes, no surprises as I have been all over India already, but appreciate Your offer and will certainly try to visit You. Only three weeks planned there (not nearly enough time to see all *I* want to, but have wife and a friend, also).

So happy You have had results good enough to stay with NSD group; I'm still deciding just how to link KickAS with Facebook...

Hi John,

I am having a recheck on my diet.

I am consuming about 500 gms each of apple and grapes everyday. Should I limit on the total sugar consumption.

I am adding little turmeric to the vegetables / omlette. Is that OK?

My egg consumption is 8 /day.

I use very little onion and not taking tomatoes these days.

I will check with iodine once again for some of the items.

I stopped dairy products three months back. I want to attempt dairy for energy. Whether reaction will be shown immediately as in the case of starch if it is not tolerant?.

I had first major flare in 2003 and was not able to move. I was in bed for few months. Later, it was diagonised as Bone TB. I took anti TB treatment for 9 months and was normal till 2007 when flare recurred again in a major way as in 2003. Again bed ridden for few months and diagonised as AS. Doctor mentioned that in 2003 I did not have TB and was misdiagonised. Hence, I have a doubt that whether anti TB medicine has given me relief. Hence, there is no issue in trying antiboby protocol (AP). But, I will find out a doctor who can support me. You can forward your AP for AS to me. I shall check on that.

Whether visit to Chennai is in your agenda. If so, inform me about your probable date. Definitely we can try to meet. If Chennai is not in the list, I do not want you to change your program.

Regards.

Jay

When I first had symptoms way back in 1959 aged 12 years I was sent to see a orthopedic consultant (no rheumatologist in those days). He immediately thought I had a T.B. spine. The standard test to diagnose T.B. was negative. It turned out much latter when I was aged 18 that my problem was A.S.

I understand from several people with AS that they were initially (mis)diagonised as TB.

Did you take anti TB treatment?

There was this test they used to do for TB so once the result came back negative there was no need for any treatment. The result only took a couple of days to come through.

TB of the spine used to be much more common as recently as the 1950s. So as many A.S. sufferers were first seen by a orthopedic surgeons the first possible diagnoses was quite often TB spine.

I came across several sufferers of TB spine. Even after antibiotics became available as a cure for TB these patients still had a long way to go if the TB had spread to the spine. They often had to have major spinal surgery.
