I was curious to hear everyones thoughts.. i have taken all the bilologics in combination and not in combination with the methotrexate, gotten remicade infusions at the highest dose possible for me, as frequently i could get them and in combination with the highest dose of methotrexate my dr felt comfortable putting me on etc. basically ive been on everything i could take some i havent tried because of allergies to medicine. My rheum is switching me to the IVIg therapy/treatment after the remicade and methotrexate have started to take their tole on my liver. She obviously explained to me in depth what this is all about but long story short its basically immunogloblulin replacement therapy.. i guess theyr going to try to readjust my immune system with thousands of other peoples immune systems.. supposedly its not regulary used for AS but it has a good potential to help with it.. has anyone else used this approach? Does anyone know anything about it? Any thoughts towards it?

Inject colostrum?

IVIg sounds like a more direct method to kill pathogens that is similar to eating/drinking colostrum. In April I tried taking Newzealand colostrum for gut healing and immune balancing but did not notice any effect. Research into Newzealand colostrum tells me that it was lacking components that I wanted such as proline peptides (PrP's), growth factors (IGF1, EFG, TGF-Beta1&2, VEGF) and lactoferrin -- it only had the standard IgG. They seem to extract the PrP's to sell to companies that make antihistamine spray substitutes, etc; not a whole product anymore.

Sovereign Labs seems like an excellent source and so does Jarrow

I try not to be cynical when the founder, Doug Wyatt, came from NewZealand to USA because of how the NZ gov took control of colostrum production and, as the founder says, ruined the product. Some people say that he is just trying to sell a milk product but my understanding is that what he sells is the best natural source of colostrum that can be found.

I have not tried IVIG but I am taking Stelara off label for my spondylitis, since it’s not FDA approved yet, and doing well. I was also very allergic to other biologics or didn’t achieve a full remission. I tried Humira, Enbrel, Remicade, Simponi, methotrexate, leflunomide and Cosentyx. If you do try the IVIG, I hope you do well and post about it.

Good luck!

Meds -Hizentra, leflunomide, Prednisone
