If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Hi, As I indicated, I have been on NSD and parallelly on Humira (Exemption) for more than 5 months. I started getting relief from almost nil walk. Now, I started feeling pain again and I am barely able to walk only 50 m without pain. I am wondering how pain started coming back while on NSD and anti TNF.
After starting NSD, Iron level has increased and Doctor adviced to stop Non Veg for 2 weeks. Iron level reduced after 2 weeks. It again increased after I resumed Non Veg. Presently, I am restricting Non Veg. It appears, iron level reduces while stopping Non veg. But “Ferritin†is increasing constantly over 5 months. Now iron is 218 against 180 (max) and ferritin is 468 against 322(max). How to reduce Ferritin. I am taking almonds, dry grapes, dry fruits and coconut meat almost regularly as I have indicated. They have iron (non hemo). Are they culprit?. Tofu also has considerable iron. I am feeling less energy without Non Veg & milk products. If I have to cut these, then it will be very difficult for me. I am wondering, how to come off from this.
Whether improvement will be felt if iron & ferritin becomes normal.
I request advice / guidance for further improvement.
Regards.
Jay

My last blood tests also showed high iron levels - ferritin etc - and so my GP had further tests to check whether I had haematomachrosis (various other spellings available). I didn't, but he thinks I am a carrier for the gene. He kept looking at me, probably trying to judge whether I was turning yellow. I don't know how that would work for you.
'Then you should say what you mean,' the March Hare went on. 'I do,' Alice hastily replied; 'at least - at least I mean what I say - that's the same thing , you know.' 'Not the same thing a bit!' said the Hatter.

My GP mentioned since iron reduced after stopping NV, genetic test is not required.
